Book author, Dr Julian M. Bass, is Head of Computer Science and Software Engineering, University of Salford, Manchester, UK. He is a researcher and educator in socio-technical systems focusing on software engineering in big data and large-scale development programmes. He is also Chief Technology Officer, at Red Ocelot Ltd.
After a research career break in the software industry and as an international development worker, he is creating new knowledge in global software engineering, deployment of cloud-hosted software services and ICTs for international development in the global south (ICT4D). Committed to identifying, creating and facilitating innovative learning opportunities for practitioners and students.
